MOBILE PHONE HOLDER – FIXED OUTSIDE THE BOX!

I bought this Universal Mobile Phone Holder from the Fareham Market a couple of months ago for what I thought was a good price - £5 - but clearly not as good as available on eBay! Lol. It seemed very clever because of the numerous ways that it could be used and the way it folded down to look like a mouse. I chose to mount it on my windscreen next to my rear view mirror as the place least likely to disturb my driving and discovered that the suction cap was so good that using the so called quick Read more [...]

VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN – IRRELEVANT – BE NATURIAN!

The important thing is to eat unprocessed food without added sugar or fat. This means not eating cakes, biscuits, pies, sausages, pizza, sweets or any other processed food which looks good on the outside but you can't see what it's made of! That includes cheese and all spreads including butter which are processed foods very high in fat. It also includes alcoholic beverages which are highly processed liquid foods containing alcohol which the body cannot deal with properly. Naturally it means not Read more [...]

HOLES IN MY POCKET!

It's only a matter of time before the coins and keys you put in your pocket create a hole through which you lose a fortune. It happened to me 2 days ago and no matter how much I tried I couldn't remember to use the left pocket instead of the right one! So this morning I cut from a piece of leather from an old wallet into a rectangle 10cm by 5cm. I glued it to the bottom of the pocket by holding it in place while I applied the glue to the other side of the material until there was enough to do the Read more [...]

ACCIDENTAL INTELLIGENCE – THE PERFECT KETTLE!

Amazing how sometimes you buy something because it's cheap and then discover it's just what you wanted. As you can see there's a smooth metal plate over the heating element of my new kettle which means that you can boil a single cup of water to make one cup of coffee using only 25 watts costing approximately .3 of a penny - very green don't you think! . FORGOT MY CHIPS ON MONDAY!

Can you believe I forgot to have chips on Monday - it's part of my eating regime - I follow Natural Low Density Eating principles which in summary means: - No process food (ie no biscuits, cake, pie, sausages, etc) - No added sugar - No added fat (no frying) - No milk products (these are processed foods and lactose blows me up) - No wheat products (these are made from highly processed wheat flour and gluten gives me arthritis) but I do allow myself chips twice a week providing they are Read more [...]

FATHERS DAY – NAY – FATHERS WEEK FOR ME

Today is Father Day but I've had a Father's Week.  Time for a quiet day of rest & contemplation! 🙂 Four nights this week brought me even more of the magic of salsa dancing with amazing partners - particularly at Southampton University Student Union on Saturday where I had an interesting chat with a lady who asked me about my life since salsa began. It reminded me how I got where I am today and how much I love my life and the people in it! Although she had never danced salsa before I Read more [...]

Happy 60th Anniversary of Independence Day to Ghana & my Kente shirts!

Where would I be without my Kente shirts! Thank you Ghana - you changed my life forever! My original shirts were a present from by ex-wife after she visited Ghana to collect an African Achievers Award but they suffered a bit from wear, washing, drying & ironing so I was very pleased to find that Afrofrocks sold them online for a reasonable price! 🙂 Read more [...]

Diary 2016-07-28 Moved just one mile down the road!

Isn't it good when a plan comes together! Today I moved a mile down the road from an end-terraced house to a studio flat. I was quite looking forward to it because the house was too big for just me and the studio flat is a lot better that the bedsit I lived in when my parents went to live in Wales many years ago. I remember entertaining my first wife-to-be there so it must have been in 1972. I remember getting a stiff letter from the landlord when he discovered from one of the other tenants that Read more [...]

Diary: Sunday 29th May 2016

After a lovely weekend in Uxbridge with my ex & Katie which featured me strimming the front garden and making it look much neater than before I drove down to the The Bedford in Balham for a dreamy night of salsa.  I took the M25/M4 route to minimize traffic and arrived at 10pm after an hour's drive just in time to miss the lessons and go straight to the social dancing as is my wont.  I had some wonderful dances which will be imprinted on my mind forever but had to leave a bit earlier than Read more [...]

Diary: Monday 23rd May 2016 – Sunny or Moody!

I had a pleasant walk through the Gosport Town Shopping Precinct from the Morrison's end this afternoon and ended up at the Gosport Ferry end.  I walked down the right hand side of the access pontoon and went through the sliding doors at the end on the right to the pontoon which is marked Authorised persons only so that I could have an uninterrupted view of the Solent on what was a lovely sunny day - so sunny was carrying my leather jacket instead of wearing it.  I took a picture as you can Read more [...]
