Salsa Katanga runs an evening of salsa dancing at the Irish Club from 8:30pm-11pm every Wednesday evening! Join Katanga and his team for salsa lessons, with 3 levels from beginner to advanced from 8:30pm or just come to the social dancing at 9:30pm as I do. Every first Friday of the month there is an excellent salsa event at The Venue in Brighton run by Carlton Thomas. The social dancing is from 11pm to 2am which is my interest but the classes which are very professional start at 9pm. Event 2017-12-07: Salsa Bailando at Drift in Southsea on Thursdays!

Drift in Southsea is the venue Bailando every Thursday run by DALE Afro Latin Entertainment from 10:30pm to 3am. It starts earlier but hardly anybody gets there until 10:30pm and at 11pm they start charging £2 to go it. It has been good for the last few weeks because it was so crowded downstairs that people who wanted to dance salsa, bachata, meringue, kizomba etc have to go upstairs! Dare to Believe: Lauren Steadman

I just happened to tune to Channel 4+1 at 12:20 and watched an inspiring short film called "Dare to Believe: Lauren Steadman" which was episode 6 of 7 Season 1 of a series with the theme "Dare to Believe"

What an inspiring short film about a brave girl with one less arm that the rest of us doing superbly well as a world class swimmer but believing that she could do even better as a triathlete. She did and became World Champion 2 years in a row and only failed in 2016 due to a nasty accident. Read more [...]
