Salsateca London and Ola Latina run a regular event called El Bembe every 4th Saturday of the month at Editor's Tap. The atmosphere is very friendly as it was at The Bottlescrue for 6 years but the dance floor is better with air conditioning that actually works well! I always have a good time dancing to the motivational music of DJ Johnny Gee!
Format: The venue offers plenty of space for dancing mainly salsa and bachata in a long room parallel to the extensive bar.

Fadi K runs events called ABCD from time to time - meaning AnyBody Can Dance - and the details of the latest - called The Big One because it's the first multi-day event - can be seen on the facebook event. A live band event organised by Liz Whelan of Bailabonito who invited me when I saw her at Salsa Fusion earlier this month. I normally go to El Bembe but decided to attend this event to support a good friend.

Putney Salsa Club is hosted by Incognito which is run by the elegant Jeff Tarpinian and the lovely Mia Amorbaila. Miguel Mayana resumed his monthly salsa event in Balham at the White Eagle Club (aka Hamilton House) in February. Incognito Dance Company launched a new salsa party night for the first Sunday of each month starting on 2nd September 2018 on the occasion of my 73rd birthday accompanied by my daughter Katrinah. This is the kind of event where you find out what bachata is really all about although there is a salsa & a kizomba room for those who prefer not to dance bachata all night as I don't - bachata comes 2nd for me and kizomba about 6th! 🙂

2018-10-20: Mambo City at ULU Monthly Party on Saturday!
Mambo City run a monthly party at ULU (University of London Union) from 20:30 to 02:00 - social dancing from 10pm onwards. The main salsa room is spacious with a stage for the DJ and is always very busy. There is also a dedicated kizomba room in the reception room where the bar is located with the usual student prices. I always look forward to being part of the biggest and best monthly salsa dancing venue in the UK which is El Grande at Scala from 21:30 to 05:00 - 4 rooms for salsa, cubana, bachata & kizomba - often attended by more than 1200 dancers! Salsateca London and Ola Latina run a regular event called El Bembe every 2nd Saturday of the month at The Bottlescrue, 33 Foster Lane, London EC2V 6HD. Sometimes there's one on the 4th Saturday too. There is parking in the streets nearby from 7pm onwards.
