2019-10-23: Salsa Explosion Wednesdays at Bar So Bournemouth!

Enrique Perez & his partner  Rob Carroll run an excellent evening of salsa at Bar So in Bournemouth every Wednesday. There are  bachata workshops from 7:30pm to 8:30pm followed by Cuban salsa workshops from 8:45pm until 10:30pm.  All levels are catered for with the one and only Moe Flex usually providing the advanced level for bachata & salsa.

The workshops are followed by social dancing until 1am with an excellent selection of good salsa music by DJ Enrique which will motivate you to dance all night. Although the salsa lessons are Cuban there are plenty of ladies attending who can dance cross body though most of the men do lead Cuban style!

As an proponent of Puerto Rican Salsa Romantica it’s not a problem for me to vary what I lead according to the preferences of the lady. (Puerto Rican means the best of cross body & cubana and Salsa Romantica means smooth & sensual.)

Timetable

I Love Salsa Bournemouth at Bar So Bournemouth
I warmed up having a lovely salsa with Susanne and a beautiful bachata with Terez. It was good to have a few dances with Vendula again – after she missed last week due to a lack of baby sitter – and to have a few dances with Sasha again having not danced with her for a quite a while!
I enjoyed dancing with Talula – a beginner who needs a good lead to develop her potential talent – and with Laura who was amazing as she said she wasn’t very good at salsa – yet after a bit of warming up – she danced with the confidence and style of an experienced salsera.
The mix of music tonight was good apart from the ratio which was 3:3:3 as I would much prefer a salsa club oriented 3:2:1 – after all there are plenty of other nights in Bournemouth for bachata and kizomba enthusiasts!
