2019-10-30: Salsa Explosion Wednesdays at Bar So Bournemouth – Halloween Party!

Enrique Perez & his partner  Rob Carroll run an excellent evening of salsa at Bar So in Bournemouth every Wednesday. There are  bachata workshops from 7:30pm to 8:30pm followed by Cuban salsa workshops from 8:45pm until 10:30pm.  All levels are catered for with the one and only Moe Flex usually providing the advanced level for bachata & salsa. See the facebook page I Love Salsa Bournemouth for more information.

The workshops are followed by social dancing until 1am with a good selection of SBK music by DJs Moe and Enrique in the ratio 3:3:3. Although the salsa lessons are Cuban there are plenty of ladies attending who can dance cross body though most of the men do lead Cuban style!

As an proponent of Puerto Rican Salsa Romantica it’s not a problem for me to vary what I lead according to the preferences of the lady. (Puerto Rican means the best of cross body & cubana and Salsa Romantica means smooth & sensual.)

Timetable

  • 7:30pm Bachata workshops for various levels
  • 8.45pm Cuban Salsa classes for all levels in 5 Rooms
  • 10:15pm Salsa Social with DJs Moe and Enrique  which is when I arrive!
  • 1am Close

Winter Gardens Car Park 1 is the best place to park only a hundred yards from the venue! Drive down the hill (Exeter Road) and turn first left. Drive past the Truth Nightclub and turn left into the car park then left again to park as close as possible to the venue.

Philip Wake What a fabulous Halloween party – I wore my mask all night which many people said suited me and had lots of lovely dances with VendulaIvonneTerez, Susanne, Talula and so many others I lost count. I saved the best dance until last around 00:30 and went home a happy man! ❤️

Philip Wake To make my mask wearable I cut the nose holes as big as possible and also cut a slit all the way along the mouth so that I could breath easily through my mouth too and even have a drink without removing the mask. Because the mask was almost precisely the shape of my face it fitted very well indeed and I could wear my glasses over the mask! 😉
