The Drift Bar in Southsea is the venue for Bailando every Thursday run by DALE Afro Latin Entertainment from 10pm to 1am. When I arrive around 10pm for the salsa dancing upstairs there are usually plenty of people who attended the earlier bachata lessons from 8:30 to 10pm staying on for half an hour or so to practice to bachata music. Around 10:30pm salsa is added to the mix and people start coming up from downstairs particularly when it gets crowded. Many members of Kasia Rajka‘s salsa family (Salsa Solent Portsmouth) are usually there and members of The UoP Cuban Salsa Society ‘Sonrisas Salseros’ usually arrive around 11pm. DJ Hazel provides the music upstairs while DJunior takes care of downstairs.

Bailando upstairs at Drift with DALE Afro Latin Entertainment was good fun tonight with a fine mix by DJ Hazel. Attendance at the bachata lesson before the salsa social upstairs increased again tonight – I counted 54 dancers. I had some beautiful bachata dances until 10:45 and then the salsa tracks began so that I could have some more energetic dances with some of my favourite salseras. Thank you Edyta, Beata, Sarah, Goreti Agnieszka, Iyanna and many other charming ladies for my lovely dances tonight! ❤️
That was a good warm up for my weekend in London and Brighton featuring the Saturday party night in London at ABCD ★ Any Body Can Dance ★ The BIG ONE (3 Days Official Event) which is where everybody who would wish to dance with will inevitably being going! 💘💘
