The Latin Collective run Metrolatina Wednesdays at Bar Salsa Soho every week but this was a special for Boxing day event which I agreed go to with Vendula when she asked if there was anything available on Boxing day. There are classes from 6pm to 9:30 but we were only interested in the social dancing from 9:30 until 2am. I arranged with Joseph Davids for us to be on the guest list so that we could go in free up to 10:30.
It must be 10 years since I last came to this venue when I was doing salsa 6 times a week including going to London once or twice during the week – not just at weekend like I do now. It was just the same as it was before with a long slim dance floor with a bar up some stairs.
The venue is Bar Salsa Soho, 96 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0JG. There’s always somewhere to park for free in the surrounding roads – you just have to drive round until you find somewhere.
