Philip Wake I’m a bit late with my blog because I broke my reading glasses – they got crushed in my pocket while I was dancing. I popped out at 9am to buy some more – only £1 for 3.5 diopters – beats spending goodness knows how much at Spec Savers! Lol

I always have a good time at 50/50 and last night was no exception. I had some excellent dances with some of my favourite salseras but also some satisfying ones with beginners as I have a gift for leading without having to demonstrate or use words. One called Lydia was very happy with the way I made her dance and said she would be in contact for my kind of lessons. The lady buys my ticket to take her out salsa dancing and I dance with her a lot, watch her dancing with other men and give her feedback to help her improve. This method works well and the lady learns very quickly.

I asked a young lady for a salsa dance around 1am and she said that she wasn’t very good at salsa dancing. I said she would be ok with me so she agreed to dance. I discovered how she preferred to dance by putting her through a few basic moves and then it went well. At the end she said she doesn’t like the cross body that men usually lead to her but she loved my Cuban dancing and said I was amazing! I didn’t realise I’d done that – I dance Puerto Rican (the best of Cuban & cross body) so it’s all the same to me – it just so happens that’s what I ending up leading to her that worked well for us! Time to go with a big smile on my face! ❤️ · 22 Dec 11:40
