2020-02-22: B-Town Latino Bachata and Salsa Festival at Holiday Inn Brighton – Saturday Party Night!

B-Town Latino hosted a brand new bachata and salsa festival in Brighton from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 February 2020 at the Holiday Inn Brighton – Seafront. I usually go salsa dancing in London at the weekend but when there’s something new like this, where many of the ladies I enjoy dancing with seem to be going, I like to go there too but only on the Saturday Party Night which is usually the best night with shows at most weekenders. This one was no exception so to the Saturday Party Night I went!

Philip Wake I arrived at the Holiday Inn Brighton – Seafront at 9pm to find 2 parking spaces in the side road next to the venue. Another car took the second space within 5 minutes so my determination to come early to ensure a convenient parking space worked well. ❤️
The BTownLatino social dancing started around 9:30 with an equal mixture of salsa and bachata tracks being played. I had lots of excellent dances until the shows started around 10pm. All 6 shows were world class and were followed by some line dances. The social dancing restarted just after 11pm with a 2nd room being opened for salsa only while the first room became bachata only with a sprinkling of kizomba. ❤️
I spent most of my time in the salsa room but did have the occasional bachata in the other room. Apart from a few rest periods to cool down and to rest my legs with my feet up for a few minutes – which I find regenerates my energy for another hour or so – I kept dancing all night until 2am when I had the best salsa of the night with one of the performers. ❤️
I was planning to go to Sunday Funday at Revolution Brighton on Sunday but as a result of a conversation with the lady of my last dance I was easily persuaded to come to the Sunday Party Night instead! ❤️

Philip Wake Wow – just woke up at 3:15pm – what a sleep – feeling good apart from a cramp in my left thigh!
