Salsa Walking to Keep Me Fit!

I‘ve been walking 4 miles every day – 10,000 daily steps – a marathon weekly – for 91 days now as exercise to keep me fit in lieu of going salsa dancing 6 nights a week. I wear headphones and walk to the beat of salsa music to make it more interesting and, because I‘ve always found walking hard work, this makes walking smooth like dancing and therefore easier for me! I produce a report every day and I have copied yesterdays below! You will have to follow this link and scroll down to see the other reports!

Day 91 Salsa Walk

33:22 + 34:13 = 67:35 for 4 miles

As I set off under dark clouds, I could feel a splattering of rain on my face, but I girded up my loins and strode like there was no tomorrow not hoping that it wouldn’t rain but knowing that it wouldn’t! My walking was really strong with a good push at the end of each stride so I wasn’t surprised when I arrived in 33:22 which is the fastest I’ve ever walked that 2 mile route.

It was very windy by the ferry so I hid behind a wall to eat my dates and didn’t even get to sit down. I tightened my boot laces and set off home again knowing that the total time was bound to be a new record. It was a bit sunnier than before so the walk back was more pleasant. I wasn’t quite so strong on the way back in the last mile but the total time of 67:35 for 4 miles was a new record as expected. The previous record was 69:00 on Day 77 (30 May) so I was very pleased with myself! 🙂
