2019-09-28: El Bembe Salsa Party at Editors Tap London!

Salsateca London and Ola Latina run a regular event called El Bembe every 4th Saturday of the month at Editor’s Tap. The atmosphere is very friendly as it was at The Bottlescrue for 6 years but dance floor is better with air conditioning that actually works well! I always have a good time dancing to the motivational music of DJ Johnny Gee!

Format: The venue offers plenty of space for dancing in a long room parallel to the extensive bar.

Timetable:

  • 7:15 Bachata lessons
  • 8:15: Salsa lessons
  • 9:15: Social dancing
  • 2am: Close

Venue: Editor’s Tap at 5-11 Fetter Lane, London EC4A 1BR

Nearest Tube: Chancery Lane, Temple or Black Friars Station all are around a 5 minute walk.

Parking: There is parking in the streets nearby from 7pm onwards but as this venue is inside ULEZ and I have an old diesel car I park near Scala and use my free bus pass to travel the last 1.3 miles.

Entrance: £12 including a voucher for a free drink

Philip Wake As usual a wonderful party atmosphere as we all danced the night away determined to make the 7th year of El Bembe Party London the best yet! I had some excellent dances with LauraElenaVirginiaJulia and an awesome Jamaican lady who, while giving me a strong energetic salsa, lost her head before the end of the dance – I mean her hair extension fell off and she vanished in the direction of the ladies room! 😉
I danced a bachata with a total beginner – said she didn’t dance at all – and she followed me really well with a big smile on her face. Just love doing that ❣️🔥❣️
